Cents Sign Goaltender Dylan Adams

The Merritt Centennials are pleased to announce the signing of 17-year-old goaltender Dylan Adams from Kelowna, BC. Standing 6’1″ and 170 pounds, Adams is soon to turn eighteen with an upcoming birthday on January 1st. Dylan will join Centennial’s netminders Karlis Mezsargs (20) and Andrew Ballantyne (19), and the trio of goalies will work together with the assistance of goaltending coach Tyler Steel.

“This will be good for Dylan to come in and get used to the league and see the standards this team has set day to day while also getting pushed by Karlis and Andrew every day, it will be good for Dylan and our team. Our goaltending depth is strong, and it is a bonus that Dylan is somewhat local to Merritt and can be close to family in Kelowna,” said Centennials’ Head Coach and Assistant General Manager Brian Passmore. “This past fall, Dylan had a really good main camp with the Vernon Vipers. He has had enough high-quality U18AAA experience and is ready to step up to the BCHL now.”

“Dylan is a very serious. hard-working and determined goalie with good size”, said Passmore. “He is a student of the game, committed to putting the work in and eager to show his level of compete every day. Dylan comes to our team as a good talent and we would like to help further his development. He is a person of high character and will fit nicely within our team environment for this year and the future. Dylan has worked hard for this opportunity, and we are excited for Dylan to join us. We would like to extend a great warm welcome to Dylan and his family – Welcome to the Centennials”.

Dylan has played the last four seasons with the Okanagan Rockets AAA organizations. Since 2022 Dylan has played 26 regular season games with the U18AAA team and has posted a respectable 2.86 GAA and a 16-8-1 record, including three shutouts.
