The Merritt Centennials are excited to announce that defenseman Liam Visram has committed to the Portage College Voyageurs of the Alberta Colleges Athletic Conference for next season.
Visram was a stalwart on the Centennials blueline throughout the abbreviated pod season. In a third of his overall BCHL career, Visram was able to contribute more offense than ever before chipping in with 1 goal and 7 assists through 18 games. His steady presence was welcomed on a young blue line as he used a combination of smooth skating, passing, and edge to help lead the Cents from the back end. In all, Visram played in 69 BCHL games after making the jump to the Nanaimo Clippers from the Delta Ice Hawks. Before that he skated with the Fraser Valley Thunderbirds.
Director of Hockey Operations John Stuart says that the opportunity couldn’t happen to a better player and family.
“We are so happy for Liam and his family. Not many people deserve this opportunity as much as Liam. We are proud he finished his junior career with the Merritt Centennials and wish him all the best in his future.”
The Cents would like to thank Liam and his family for their contributions to the team over what will be a season no one will forget.
At Portage College, Visram will pursue a Business Administrations Diploma.
