Cents And Vees Complete Swap

The Merritt Centennials have completed a trade with the Penticton Vees sending defenseman Peter Muzyka to the Vees for future considerations.

The playing rights to Muzyka were acquired earlier in the summer in exchange for forward Ashton Stockie.

Head Coach and General Manager Joe Martin knew that Muzyka was a player the Vees coveted and says that the Muzyka transaction was always a part of the plan, even though it involves a couple moving parts.

“This helps our team now, and I think it will help our team a little bit later as well. You can look at it as through Muzyka we acquire [Nic] Granowicz, Stockie for Granowicz is the best way to look at it.”

Nic Granowicz has made the team out of camp and has played in two exhibition games. He scored his first of the preseason, unassisted, last night against Prince George.

The Cents are next in action tomorrow night, when the Spruce Kings come to town to complete the home-at-home series. Season Tickets are available for purchase/pick up at the Centennials marketing office at 2001C Voght St next to Kekuli Cafe. Puck drop 7pm at the NVMA, and online at HockeyTV.com with Jared Thomas.
