Centennials Set To Take On Wild In Round 1

Merritt BC – The Merritt Centennials (24-26-5-2) have found out their opponent for the first round for the 2018 Fred Page Cup playoffs; the Centennials will be facing the Wenatchee Wild (37-15-4-1) starting on March 1st. Wenatchee currently sits in third place with 79 points and will have home ice advantage for the first two games. Game two will go on March 3rd.

 

The Centennials record against the Wild is 2-4 with both of the Centennials win coming down in Wenatchee.

 

The last time that these two teams met was back on January 27th where it was the Centennials earning a 3-2 win down in Wenatchee.

 

Merritt will have to watch out for players like Jasper Weatherby on the front end of the Wild, while on the backend it’s Cooper Zech that they have to keep their eye on. Weatherby currently has 74 points in 57 games, scoring 37 goals and earning himself 37 assists as well. Weatherby currently leads the Wild forward in points. On the defensive side for the Wild, Cooper Zech currently has 69 points in 57 games scoring 11 goals and earning himself 58 assists. On the backend of the team Seth Eisele and Austin Park have both been red hot for the Wild. Eisele has played 33 games while Park has seen 25 games. Eisele’s record is currently 20-9-0-1 with his goals against average is 2.52 and his save percentage is 0.889 and Park’s record is 16-9-0-0 with his save percentage being 0.887 and goals against average 2.78. Eisele also has three shutouts on the season.

 

For the Centennials it’s Henry Cleghorn who currently leads the forwards in 56 games played, earning himself 20 goals and 28 assists for 48 points, Nicholas Wicks is two points behind him with 12 goals and 34 assists. On the defensive side for the Centennials it’s captain Tyrell Buckley who leads with 39 points in 55 games, Buckley has 11 goals and 28 assists. Rookie Jackson Munro is behind Buckley with 21 points in 53 games scoring three goals and having 18 assists. In net the Centennials have Jacob Berger and Austin Roden. Berger’s record is currently 13-23-0-0 while Roden’s record is 12-11-0-3. Berger has a save percentage of 0.906 with his goals against average being 3.43 and earning himself two shutouts. Roden’s goals against average is currently 2.40, his save percentage being 0.931 and earning himself two shutouts as well.
