Centennials Alumnus Reece Willcox Signs Two-Year Extension with Philadelphia Flyers

Former Merritt Centennials defenseman Reece Willcox has signed a two-year, two-way contract extension with the Philadelphia Flyers.

A native of Surrey, BC, Wilcox was selected by the Flyers in the 5th round of the 2012 NHL Entry Draft after two years with the Cents organization. In 105 games with the Centennials, Wilcox posted ten goals and 27 assists for 37 points.

Wilcox continued his hockey career at Cornell University, including captaining the team in his final season, and in four years tallied five goals and 25 assists.

Now with the Flyers’ AHL farm team, the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, Willcox is coming off his most successful pro season where he had three goals and 12 assists for 15 points.

Willcox is now entering his third full AHL season and may get a chance to crack the Flyers lineup this year.
