Alumni Update: Willcox, Seeger, & Jewell

Merritt BC – Reece Willcox is currently playing with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms of the AHL. Willcox spent two seasons with the Centennials, from 2010-2012 notching 10 goals and 27 assists in 105 BCHL games.


Willcox, a native of Surrey BC, was drafted to the Philadelphia Flyers of the NHL in 2012 where he went in the fifth round and 141st overall.


This season Willcox has played 49 games putting up two goals and 10 assists.


Willcox played for Cornell University in the NCAA from 2012 until the end of the 2016 season. While at Cornell, Willcox played a total of 120 games notching five goals and getting 29 assists. Back in the 2011-12 season Willcox played for Team Canada West U19.


Stephan Seeger is currently playing for Lowen Frankfurt in the Del2 over in Germany. This is Seeger’s first season over there. This season he has played 52 games notching six goals and earning seven assists while putting up 26 penalty minutes.


Seeger played for the Centennials in the 2014-15 season and then once again in the 2016-17 season after playing a year over in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Flint Firebirds. His BCHL career, Seeger played a total of 66 regular season games notching 14 goals and 27 assists, in the post season he played a total of 15 games, scoring five goals and earning eight assists.


In the 2016-17 post season, Seeger scored two of the biggest goals in his BCHL career, scoring the game winning goal in game two verses the West Kelowna Warriors to end the triple overtime game at 11:47 pm. The second biggest goal came in game four, once again against the Warriors and in overtime to send the Centennials onto the second round and sweeping the Warriors, and having the Centennials be the first team in Canadian Junior Hockey League history to sweep a defending RBC Cup National Championship team.


In the post season for Frankfort this season Seeger has played six games and has one goal.


Brett Jewell is currently playing for Yale University in the NCAA. Jewell played a total of three seasons in a Centennials uniform, spending his last season as captain.


Jewell, a native of Vernon BC, played a total of 118 BCHL games, all in a Centennials jersey, notching 28 regular season goals and earning 26 assists. In the post season Jewell played a total of 11 games and put up three goals and three assists.


This season at Yale, Jewell has played 24 games putting up one goal and one assist and earning 13 penalty minutes.
