Cents End Overtime Woes with 5-4 Win Over Victoria
Saturday, January 26, 2013
The Merritt Centennials battle hard last night in the provincial capital and took the all important two points to jump back into sole possession of second place.

It was an up and down game with two 2 goal leads evaporating from the Cents pushing it to extra time.

Goals were scored by Silvan Harper (2), Brendan Lamont (2) and Regan Soquila.

Assists went to Dylan Chanter, Kevin Lohan, Dane Birks, Regan Soquila, Sam Johnson and rookie call up Danton Heinen who assisted on the game winner.

Tyler Steel was great in his 9th straight start as he made many key saves and would finish the night with 19 saves for his 21st win of the season.

With the win, Merritt now reclaims sole possession of 2nd place in the Interior Division with 2 games still in hand on the West Kelowna Warriors.

Game 2 of this 3 game road trip continues tonight as the Cents face the Cowichan Valley Capitals.

All the action is on Q101 and Q101.ca with voice of the Cents Graham Turnbull.  Pre game show at 6:30 and puck drop at 7.
