Cents Announce 2012-13 Regular Season Schedule

Merritt, BC – July 10, 2012

The Merritt Centennials, in conjunction with the BC Hockey League, released their 2012-13 regular season schedule today. The Centennials regular season opens with a game in Chilliwack as part of the inaugural BCHL Showcase against Prince George on Saturday, September 8th at 12:00 pm. Merritt's second game is also at the Showcase in Chilliwack, against Trail on Sunday, September 9th at 2:30 pm; the home opener is the next scheduled game on Saturday, September 15th at 7:30 pm versus Trail at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.

The 2012-13 Centennials schedule features games versus every BCHL team. Merritt will play seven games against each Interior Division club (35 total) and two games against each of the 10 non-divisional clubs in the BCHL, except for Prince George, who the Cents will play three games against (21 total).

September 15 - Home opener vs. Trail Smoke Eaters
September 28 - Sebastien Pare faces former team for the first time as Jakob Reichert and Langley Rivermen visit the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena
November 14 - 2012 RBC Cup Champion Penticton Vees visit for the first time of the season
November 23 - Derek Huisman faces former team for the first time as Austin Plevy and Chilliwack Chiefs visit the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena
March 8 - Last home game of the regular season vs. Salmon Arm Silverbacks
March 9 - Regular season finale at Vernon Vipers

SCHEDULE NOTABLES:
The 2012-13 Centennials schedule features 16 back-to-back series including nine home and road series. There are also two back-to-back-to-back series. The longest home stand is five games from October 19th - November 2nd; one four-game road trip marks the longest time Merritt is away from the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena from January 22nd - 27th.

SCHEDULE BREAKDOWN:
The busiest day of the week is Saturday with the Centennials scheduled to play 22 games (14 home, 8 away) followed by 19 Friday games (7 home, 12 away).
