Merritt BC – The Merritt Centennials organization is proud and excited to announce that former defenseman Mike Faulkner was named Rookie of the Year in the New England Hockey Conference. Faulkner currently ranks third in the NEHC in defensemen for scoring, putting up 15 points, having four goals and 11 assists. He also sits sixth in the league for scoring and is tied for thirteenth in assists. Faulkner registered a season high four points on a goal and three assists in a win against Southern Maine, he is currently tied for eighth in the nation for scoring defensemen (1.96 ga/gm).
Faulkner played two seasons with the Centennials playing 55 games his rookie year putting up five goals and 25 assists. Last season he put up five goals and 21 assists in the regular season, playing 48 games. In the post season Faulkner played 11 games having one goal and six assists.
