The Merritt Centennials are excited to announce that defenseman Mike Faulkner has committed to Hobart College (NCAA Div. III) for the 2017-18 season.
Faulkner spent the last two seasons in a Centennials uniform, playing 103 regular season games and 11 postseason games, putting up a total of 10 goals and 53 assists during the regular season and one goal and six assists in the 2017 Fred Page Cup playoffs.
“We’re very happy for Mike,” said Centennials GM and Head Coach Joe Martin. “He’s going to a great program where he’ll continue to develop as a player and person.”
Former Cents goaltender Lino Chimienti is an alumni of Hobart College, playing 50 games over four seasons for the Statesmen.
Faulkner is the ninth player on this season’s Centennials roster to secure a NCAA scholarship, joining Aaron Murray (Concordia University Wisconsin), Tyler Ward (University of Denver), Zach Court (University of Nebraska-Omaha), Cade Gleekel (St. Lawrence University), Zach Metsa (Quinnipiac University), Zach Risteau (St Lawrence University), Brett Jewell (Yale University) and Michael Regush (Cornell University).
