Cents Beat Eagles 2-1

Merritt, BC, September 28, 2017–  The Merritt Centennials got their first win of the season last night against the Surrey Eagles (1-4-1-1) with a 2-1 win in Merritt.

The Eagles opened the scoring at 8:15 in the first with Jordan Robert getting his second of the season. At 11:29 of the first, Chase Bell got his second goal of the season as well with the setup from Sam Miller and Mathieu Gosselin.

The second period was a quiet one with no goals but lots of tempers flaring resulting in Zach Zorn and Mackenzie Merriman both getting 10 minute misconducts.

The third period was quiet up until the 16:01 mark when newest Centennial Colten Gerlib scored on his ex-team with assists hailing from Henry Cleghorn and Chase Bell.

The Cents play their next game at home on Saturday September 30, at 7:00 pm against the Cowichan Valley Capitals, (1-4-0-0), and again on Sunday, October 1, at 2:00 pm against the Prince George Spruce Kings, (4-1-0-1) You can get tickets at the Merritt Centennials Marketing Office or at the arena on game day.
